Pumpkin’s Story – Book Review

My teacher asked me to read a book ang give her feedback about it. It took me about two weeks to finish. It is called “Pumpkin’s Story” and it is by Aubre Adrus. The book is nonfiction.

The book is about a horse that was born with dwarfism. It was hard for her to walk because her legs couldn’t hold up her weight. The horses name was Pumpkin. To help Pumpkin, a group of animal experts gave her braces on her legs and feet. The first time they tried to put on her braces, they worked on her front legs but not on her back legs. Then they had to make a few adjustments. The second time they put braces on Pumpkin, the braces worked! After a few months, Pumpkin’s doctor said that her legs weren’t growing correctly, so the doctors gave Pumpkin surgery on her legs so they could put a metal plate into her feet. After the third surgery Pumpkin’s bones healed. Now Pumpkin could have a normal life with her braces.

I would rate this story five stars. The parts I liked most about this story was when Pumpkin put on her braces for the second time and started to run. I was so excited to know that Pumpkin could move around now and have a good time with other horses. I also liked the part where Pumpkin’s bones were healed permanently.

  1. Fatima, I love reading your writing! I agree with your opinions on Harry Potter. It is not favorite either, but I’m not a huge fan of that genre. Keep up the great work. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me!
